Our New DirectorThe Red River Valley Chorus proudly presents:
MELODY HOLMES - New Director
Melody grew up in the Salvation Army with her musically talented parents and has been immersed in the musical world ever since. After her first public performance at the age of two, she was hooked. The love of music led to a degree in trumpet performance.
Music also took Mel around the world, including North and South Amrerica and most of Europe with the Salvation Army for many years. As part of an humanitarian movement, Melody had the opportunity to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of teens in the Republic of Georgia through music and drama. | |
Upon returning to the States, Melody earned additional degrees with a Bachelor in Biological Health Sciences and a Masters in Molecular Genetics. She is now pursuing a PhD in Adult Education while teaching as a Professor of Anatomy and Physiology at Collin County College.
The Red River Valley Chorus and Melody came together in 2006. She stepped into the role of director in 2009 and looks forward to membership growth and happy harmony with the terrific women of the chorus. |
